Swagbucks

Many years ago I use to make web pages so I am a bit picky about how things should look or work on a page. Let us use Swagbucks as a example since my pet peeve is with this site in particular. I have been a member of Swagbucks for a long time, probably since they first launched to be honest with you. For those of you who don't know what Swagbucks is, you can complete surveys, answer daily poll questions, print coupons and be rewarded for shopping online. Your rewards can be exchanged for gift cards or PayPal. It is legit because I have redeemed my points for Amazon gift cards.

Every now and then I will log in just to keep my account active and last week when doing so I noticed at the top of a page they now give you 2 SB (Swagbucks) per receipt you upload. I thought "interesting" since I already use 3 other receipt apps to earn gift cards. This apparently is not something new as I had thought but rather (according to their blog) is something they launched in 2019.

In my defense, Swagbucks you need to make that little banner a wee bit bigger at the top of the page because this is how this all started...

I literally spent a hour looking for answers for one question, that being, how do you upload a receipt? Yes I clicked on a link but where was the link when I went back looking for it? What am I doing wrong? I am a intelligent person but why am I having such a hard time figuring this out? I know what I saw on the web page. Answer, there is a link to the "receipt submission" on of all pages, the Answer Surveys and Earn page at the very top of that landing page but you don't see that until you click on the Answer Surveys and Earn.

Why is this not on the home page Swagbucks? You know that sidebar where you put ALL the other links that say "Earn Your SB"....That is where it should be! Ok so now that I had to hunt and peck for that answer I just saved everyone who sees this a bit of time.

I grab my cup of coffee because this has become a mission to figure out why I feel like I am losing my mind. After having a cup of java and sitting in front of my computer contemplating what I have been through, all because I wanted to know how to earn 2 lousy SB uploading a receipt, I continue. Since none of my previous endeavors worked, let's use the Swagbucks search bar and search for "how to upload a swagbucks receipt". Why? Because I am losing my mind so might as well have a dam good reason to think so. Fast forward..Results showed my answer was on the 6th, not 1st, result and not because there was a paid AD there. Really Swagbucks? Your own search engine cannot display you as the first? OMG. Whatever lol.

Now that I have landed on the page for "uploading your receipt" there are the rules and a "submit receipt" button. I click on it, out of curiosity, and it opens up a folder on my computer to upload a picture. Excuse me? So now I have to have a web camera? Or what take a picture of said receipt and send it to myself in email so I can save it on my computer? Maybe I am making this more difficult for myself. Let's go to the Google Play Store and get the app on my phone. First attempt, I get the Swagbucks app because a sane person would think "If I need to upload a picture of my receipt I am going to need the app". Open the app, search around and I cannot for the life of me find it until you click on the bottom icon labeled Answer. Why? Because. There it is. After you tap that you have the option to submit a receipt, after you give permission for your phone to take pictures etc.

Now before I start submitting any receipts let me find out which stores are acceptable because everyone has a set of rules, right? I thought that was easy and simple to do. At the very top of the page they state receipts accepted from over 1,100 stores and restaurants in the US, Canada and U.K. I do a lot of shopping with one online site and that is Amazon. While scrolling down the list I do not see Amazon. Whoa. Double check, because I know my ABC's, it is not there. Are you friggin kidding me?!

Ok Swagbucks, you offer points for shopping with Amazon on the shopping page but we cannot turn in Amazon receipts? Yet you offer gift cards as a redemption of points? WTH? So now, let me go to the redeem page because yes now I am curious, do you offer Walmart gift cards for redeeming points because you allow Walmart receipts? Yes of course they do allow you to redeem points for a Walmart gift card.

One last option, let me check another page because that is where you find out which online retailers you can submit receipts to. Nope Amazon is not allowed. So let me understand this, I can get 2 SB for buying a Quarter Pounder but not for buying coffee on Amazon?

To sum it up, Swagbucks it is not worth my time to upload a receipt to get 2 SB from you.
Put the Submit Receipt link on the sidebar under "Earn Your SB" to be more accessible to everyone

Now if this adventure does not make me drink more coffee today I don't know what else will. Swagbucks, get it together. I have already deleted my previous post linking my referral link to Swagbucks.

National Diaper Bank

This is awesome! This was in my news feed scroll on Facebook. The need for diapers is real and while reading through their web site I found I can donate my Huggie Reward points. Huggies is listed as a Founding Sponsor. For more information check them out on Facebook  or by clicking directly here . For all the clearance shoppers, penny shoppers, consider donating the diapers not just to your local shelter or food bank but to this organization.  Help #EndDiaperNeed

Alliance for Period Supplies

This is a subject most men will turn their head away from but let's keep it real guys. Your lady has a period and if you are a father, your daughter will have one. What most don't realize is the need for period supplies. I can distinctly remember being in school and not having the supplies needed for a unexpected period. Back then our school counselor did not have supplies on hand like most schools do these days.  I took a pledge to help #endperiodpoverty by starting a conversation during Period Poverty Awareness Week May 25-31. Even after May 31, I will still honor my pledge and continue to spread this information. What can you do to help?

Amazon Accepts EBT

Well, all I have to say is It's. About. Time . Whether you have SNAP/EBT or P-EBT you can now order groceries from Amazon.  Here is the screenshot I received in my email probably about 2 weeks ago. Here is a list of the following states by checking here . The process is pretty simple. You will need to enter your EBT card number, which they will validate.  This includes ordering from Amazon Pantry - but if your order is under $35 you will have a $5.99 shipping charge. Once your place the order in the cart, make sure your EBT card is charged and not your debit card. When you place the order with your EBT card, you will be taken to another page to enter your PIN number.  Convenient for those hard to find items local stores do not carry but most importantly, you do not have to leave the house! Let's not forget Walmart, however, you have to order from them online and then go pick the groceries up. Honestly, my preferred choice is Amazon because if I am paying for Prime, they better
